Orissa’s campaign in the boys’ category of the 5th National Sub-junior Billiards Championship ended in pre-quarterfinals with state champion Asutosh Padhy and runner-up Chirag Arora suffering defeats on the opening day at Hotel Clarks Shiraz in Agra (UP) today.
Making his debut, Padhy posted an impressive 206-121 win over Abhinav Kripaul (Maharashtra) in the first round before losing to Rishit Jain (Delhi) 125-188 in the round of 16. Arora went down in the first round, losing 148-208 to Rohan Punjabi of Maharashtra.
